Learn to Swing Dance while exploring beautiful Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires

With a nearly a third of the county’s population, Buenos Aires is guaranteed to offer something for absolutely everyone! The unique combination of European and Latin American influence creates the perfect backdrop for a truly wonderful experience. As you walk through the city’s historic districts you’ll be simply amazed by the diversity of the beautiful architecture…French, Italian, Greek, Victorian and more all in one place.

As a Latin American city the costs are still affordable, allowing you to have access to world class cultural events, food, wine and more at a price that won’t break the bank. Just imagine yourself eating the world’s best steak with a glass of famous Argentine Malbec wine after seeing a show in one of the most famous opera houses in the world: Teatro Colon (pictured behind).

Swing in BA

Though not known yet as one of the Swing Dancing hubs of the world, there is an extensive Swing Dancing community in Buenos Aires that has been growing steadily for the past 15 years.

Believe it or not, Buenos Aires provides the opportunity to go social dancing nearly every night of the week! Furthermore, you’ll have the opportunity to take private and group classes with world class teachers for a fraction of the price that you would pay in other cities. Most private classes from experienced teachers would cost you $80-$100 / hour anywhere else in the world. We’ve negotiated prices down to $35-$50!

Putting it all together and Buenos Aires provides the perfect conditions necessary for something we like to call “Dancing Tourism”. To us Dancing Tourism means the ability to have a incredible vacation while having access to high quality private and group dance classes at a fraction of the cost. You’re essentially paying for half of the trip by saving so much on your dance classes!

Your Hosts

hostscroppedYour hosts during this special and educational experience will be Paul and Ashley. They were avid dancers who were living California when they decided to quit their jobs in order to do travel and do some dancing tourism of their own. They started in Colombia with Salsa but fell in love with Swing Dancing in Buenos Aires. They have decided to stay as they love the city and recognize the truly unique learning opportunity that the Swing school provides.

Admittedly, it wasn’t always easy. Moving to a different country with a different language is extremely challenging. They spent a lot of time becoming fluent in Spanish, learning the neighborhoods, navigating public transport, navigating classifieds and agents to find a good home, discovering the best restaurants and bars and of course finding great Swing Dancing instructors.

They’ve done all this work so that you don’t have to. You just have to show up and be ready to dance and explore the city.  They’ll take care of the rest!

House of Swing Patio
Your room

Your accommodation is a beautiful 2000+ sqft 3 bed / 3 bath home perfectly located on the border of Palermo. Over the past 15 years, development in Palermo has exploded and it has become the coolest neighborhood in Buenos Aires. This means you’ll have access to the best restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs in the city but will be far enough away from the noise so that can sleep well at night.

A few blocks in the other direction and you’ll find yourself in the more traditional but trendy neighborhood of Villa Crespo. This neighborhood is a bit quieter than Palermo but don’t be fooled, it still has some fantastic restaurants and bars for you to enjoy. This is also the neighborhood where the Swing school is conveniently located, 15 minutes walking from your accommodation.

Living Room and Practice Dance Floor!

The house is located near numerous bus routes and is a 10 minute walk from the Malabia subway station meaning you’re well connected to the entire city.
